A render that still looks 3D until the dirt hits. Car, character, or product. Leave space at the bottom for the caption.
CG that sat in a camera
Clean renders give themselves away. This is the shot that sells the plugin to 3D teams.
DaVinci Resolve OFX
Optical dirt on CG and plates. Dust, grease, fingerprints, motes.
Square crop of a shot with dirt already on. Backlight so motes and grease read. No clean plate. The circle is the lens.
Drag the split. Left is the clean plate. Right is Lens dirt at a selling setting, not a filthy smear across the whole frame.
Same frame, Lens dirt on. Grease and motes should read at web size. Keep the subject visible.
Same still as 03-dirt.jpg with no OFX. A backlight or a hard edge so dirt is obvious. Export both from one playhead.
Four hits. Fingerprint, motes, smear, edge crud. If it does not read at thumbnail size, recapture tighter or hotter against the light.
A print caught in a highlight. Ridges should read, not a grey blob. Portrait crop so it stacks against the squares.
Backlit dust in the bokeh. Specks should hold as optical, not digital noise. Against a dark field or a window.
A grease streak through a practical or the sun. Soft, directional, not a Photoshop smudge tool.
Crud in the corners and along the barrel. Wide crop so the edge is the subject, not the talent.
Inspector with Lens dirt selected. Dark Resolve theme. Crop tight on the plugin so knob names read at 800px wide.
Drop the OFX on a Color node. Last, or on a parallel so you can mix it. Built for the same jobs we finish, not a stock dust overlay.
Optional timeline still: 09-timeline.jpg (2400 × 1000, 21:9). Color page, Lens dirt on a node after the grade, viewer showing the smear.
Three jobs. Three stills. Each one should look like the lens was never cleaned.

A window, a practical, or the sun. Motes and grease should catch the light. Proves it is not only a CG tool.
Dirt is nothing until it hits a highlight. This is the money angle.
A handheld or documentary frame. Dirt should feel like the lens lived on a shoot, not a preset dumped on a beauty still.
The optic nobody wiped. Music video, fashion, or a plate that needs age without going tape.
