Street lamp, headlight, or a window. Anamorphic look. The streak should cut the frame.
Night lights that need a streak
Live plate. Auto Detect on the lamp. Anamorphic preset, then Size and Streak.
Flare already on. Night practical, headlight, or a hard backlight. Leave the lower left dark so the headline still reads. No clean plate.
DaVinci Resolve Studio OFX
Anamorphic streak, ghosts, bloom. Auto-detect the practical, or place it by hand.
Drag the split. Left is the plate. Right is Flare Sauce on a selling setting, Anamorphic look.
Same frame, Flare Sauce on. Streak and ghosts should read at web size. Keep the subject visible.
Same still as 03-flare.jpg with no OFX. A real practical in frame. Export both from one playhead.
Presets are a start, never locked. Tweak streak, ghosts, chroma, bloom and dirt after you pick one.
One locked camera. Swap the Preset menu, export. Same for look-cinematic, vintage, coated, dirty, dream, hard, rainbow.
Auto Detect locks onto the hottest source and Hold stops it hopping between lights. Preview Detect tints qualifying pixels red in the viewer, never on the render. Turn Auto off and drag the target.
Low follows whichever light is brightest. High sticks unless something much hotter appears.
Threshold is visible. Red means it will count as a source.
Screen is the photographic default. Add is hotter. Mix pulls it off the plate.
Inspector with Flare Sauce selected. Crop tight on Preset, Intensity, Streak, Ghosts, Auto Detect. Dark Resolve theme.
Night practicals first. Then CG that still looks optically clean.
Street lamp, headlight, or a window. Anamorphic look. The streak should cut the frame.
Live plate. Auto Detect on the lamp. Anamorphic preset, then Size and Streak.
A render with a hard source. Coated or Cinematic. Ghosts should sit on the far side of the optic, not as a sticker.
Last node after the grade. Screen blend so highlights do not clip twice.
